Visionary Mentoring is a UK social enterprise helping young people develop self awareness, a clear sense of direction and the habits to get there.
We met through basketball. It taught us discipline, resilience and how to keep showing up when things do not go your way.
Those lessons followed us into very different careers. Medicine, engineering, law and professional sport. We had all learned them in different ways, but never had a shared language for them.
So we built one. We turned those lessons into a practical mentoring framework that young people can understand, talk about and use in everyday life.
We do not tell a young person what to want. We give them the space and structure to work that out for themselves, then help them understand what it will take to get there.
Inspiration can be powerful, but it rarely lasts on its own. We give young people practical tools, consistent mentoring and a method they can keep using.
We choose mentors young people can relate to and respect. People with lived experience, proper training and the ability to listen well.
Visionary Mentoring started in Leicester and has grown across Bristol and beyond, working with schools, clubs and partners along the way. Every programme teaches us more about what young people respond to, and we keep developing our approach to make it more useful and effective.
We welcome conversations with schools, clubs and organisations that want to work with us, or help fund places for young people who might not otherwise have access.
